I have been using Norelco razors since the 60’s so I have some experience with them. Every 5+ years a newer model is purchased. This new fast shave razor takes about three times longer to shave than my last model 6886XL. Have to keep going over areas on my neck and face multiple times. It has no gage for the charge left so it will just stop without warning. Hope your not rushing to work… It feels and sounds lightweight and cheap. Cheap… Expect it to stop working right after the warantee expires. If this is the way Norelco is going it will be my last shaver from Norelco.

I’ve been a Gilette Fusion manual-razor man for the past two years, nothing beats a nice lather and the raw feeling of shaving away with a manual razor. Well, I received this Philips Norelco 8240XL, and decided to try the hype that is the electric razor. I was very surprised- it is worth the hype! The shave was extremely close, and was very precise. Most importantly, there was absolutely no skin irritation. This is coming from the guy whose skin will turn into hundreds of little red bumps at the slightest irritation, and has to slap gallons of aftershave balm on himself. Amazing- a dry shave with no skin irritation? That’s better than sliced bread. I think I’ll miss using my Fusion.

If I shave in the morning, I’ll have the makings of a five-o’clock shadow in the afternoon. I’ve always used electric razors, and I’ve used wet/dry, single blade, and rotary blade. This Philips Norelco, might just be the best I’ve ever used. It gives a clean, close shave that lasts almost all day. The quiet motor at first seems like its hardly working, but it efficiently trims my beard. The battery holds a charge for a long time. Shaving below the jaw and around the neck can be tedious, but I’ve never had a razor behave otherwise. The trimmer, however, does not work well at all and is the only problem I had.

I needed to replace by Braun 7500 razor that I had been using for 5 or 6 years. After looking and all the reviews and shopping around, I decided to try a rotary razor as these were supposed to get the longer hairs and coarse hairs better than the foil types. Buying this razor was a great purchase. It is so much quieter than my old razor. It took a while to get used to the quiet but I no longer wake my wife by shaving. After about a week by skin became used to the new style of shaver. I’ve cut my shaving time down by half with the Norelco! With the Braun I had to go over areas multiple times to get all the difficult hairs. The Norelco seems to get everything on the first pass or too, even the coarse or longer hairs. Even when I don’t shave for two or three days, it still cut close and quick. I also like rinsing the shaver under the faucet instead of the cleaning station the braun had. I no longer spend $10 every two months buying the cleaning solution and my wife appreciates not having the “spaceship” taking up room on the counter. If you are looking for a good electric razor this is one to buy. Good price, good performance, quiet operations, and easy cleanup.

Philips Norelco NT9110 Review
Gave my oldest son one as part of his birthday present, back in October. After his positive comments about it, I got my other son and husband one for Christmas. They now don’t know how they did without it.

Judging by some of the negative reviews, this fragile item may be damaged or they have a quality control issue. Mine has worked great. It’s the best of the three I’ve owned. This one can get into places the others couldn’t without cutting my skin.

Great nose trimmer. The straight edge works better than the round ones on other nose trimmers. After being disappointed with the round nose trimmers, I recommend getting this trimmer.

I got this razor with the vacuum for my boyfriend. I was tired of constantly finding facial hair in my bathroom sink and having to clean it. He loves the way it shaves and I love the way it makes my life easier.

Philips Norelco BG2030 Review
I had used the BG2020 before, but the button on it broke somehow and it wouldn’t turn on. That worked pretty well, but the BG2030 works way better! Love the new attachments and head. Great for cutting down the chest hair (and mine gets thick). The foil head also seems to work a little better than the 2020. I would definitely recommend this product for any guy that wants to trim up. No pinches down there either, very smooth. Just used it for the first time today, and in 10 minutes I was all cleaned up. The $50 price is a bit high, but trust me you are getting a quality product. Don’t see how they could really improve on it much, except to include a travel case, or at least offer one as an additional product. Well worth it, and if I had to buy one every couple of years I would.

I purchased the BG2030 to replace my previous BodyGroomer that had died – the button no longer ‘clicked’ the machine on – based on previous reviews. When I received the machine I was impressed by how far Philips has evolved the BodyGroomer, and in contrast to other reviewers found the new trimming head and combs to be a welcome change. Not only are the combs more easily adjustable than the previous model and thus more accurate, but with one for ’sensitive’ areas and the other for everything else it aides in maintaining high hygiene of the attachments. The only minor difficulty I had was with the charge light that did not function on my unit which Philips has agreed to replace – this did not affect the operation of the machine, but the CSR felt returning it was the appropriate way to handle the issue.

I purchased this trimmer for trimming my underarms and more personal areas along with my beard. it is amazing. it is so gentle on the tender areas and has great comb control for my beard. I have purchased several other trimmers over the years but this one surpasses them all. It is a bit more pricey than some trimmers but it is worth it.

This razor has some strength’s and some weaknesses as well. It is stylish and seems to be built well. Its stainless steel blades are self sharpening which is a huge plus. It is rechargeable and comes with a charging cord, stand, three attachment combs and a cleaning brush. I wish it came with some sort of case for storage. With a full charge it will run for just under an hour. It comes with a 60-day Money-Back Guarantee and a Full Two Year Warranty. It is water resistant so you can use it to dry shave or shave in the shower. It easily rinses clean for easy clean-up. When shaving without the guards in place it shaves very close shave without irritation. With the guards in place it doesn’t work as well as I expected. The blades that cut the longer hair are short and you must keep going over and over the area that you are shaving. It is also almost impossible to reach you entire back with this shaver as well because the handle is pretty short. Overall it’s not perfect but I think this is a very good shaver for the price.

I’ve used this product quite a few times now, and am overall happy with it. I’m a man and have used it on everything below the neck without problems. Some having trouble might want to try a little powder on the area and see if that helps. Especially under my arms, adding some powder makes cutting the hair a breeze. I don’t use any of the guards, and find just the razor to be fine. Never had any tugging or pinching issues. While scary at first, product is easy to take apart and clean. It would be perfect, if only I could run it directly off a plug/cord. When I first got it, I had to groom on two different days, but now since I’m just keeping all the hair maintained, I can get it all done in one charge.

Philips Norelco HQ9 Review
This product contains three replacement heads for the Norelco 9160XL electric razor. After 1 1/2 years of continuous daily usage the original cutting heads were no longer giving a good shave. I decided to replace the original blades with this set.

The good:
1.) Easy to following instruction for replacement on the package, and the actual replacement process was incredibly simple and easy to do.
2.) The new blades functioned perfectly; because the decline in performance of the original blades was so gradual, it was difficult to believe how much of an improvement these replacement blades provided.

The not so good:
Only one complaint; the packaging. The replacement blade were embodied in a package that made it extremely difficult to actually get at the blades. There were a series of 6 grommet eyelets surrounding the entire package making it very secure. I literally had to force scissors between the layers of cardboard to get around the grommets to eventually get to the blades inside. In a word…frustrating. Plus, a slight slip and a bad cut may have occurred (I think everyone has experienced trying to open one of these newer hard-plastic wrapped items and knows just how difficult it can really be to get at the product inside).

Conclusion:
An excellent set of replacement blades. (I just hope they’ll last longer than the 3 months it took for the original blades to start to lose their sharpness). Time will tell; but up to now, so far so good.
However, getting the blades out of this package could be considered a potential hazard.
5 Stars for the product itself, with 1 or 2 Stars off for the needless obstructive packaging.

Amazing what a difference new shaving heads make. I hadn’t noticed the gradual degradation in ease of shaving, and thought the problem was with the humidity. Got the new blades and my shaving time was cut by two thirds. Applied the cost savings over getting it in a store to overnight shipping.

Philips Norelco T980 Review
I wonder if all these reviews are pertaining to this particular model, some reviews don’t sound like my unit. I find no real problem with mine. Nothing is perfect. It is a bit bigger than my old small Wahl, but it has more features that require that. The vacuum works great, which alone makes my purchase of it worthwhile to me; in the past the sink always had a lot of nasty looking hairs all over it. Ive never had mine switch length setting on me, as some people describe, I don’t see how it could. I think the adjustable length feature is really great, it accommodates about ‘any’ length beard, and eliminates all the extra little clip-on guides you have to keep track of. I gave up on trying to take the top off but it doesn’t matter as there really is no need. I find no problem with excess noise, or with the turbo setting. I’m very happy with mine. Also, this amazon price of $39.95 is $20 less than on the Norelco website, plus you get free shipping.

I’ve had a regular Norelco beard trimmer for years and when the battery would no longer hold a charge I decided to give this one a try. I didn’t really follow the vacuum or turbo descriptions but bought it anyway based on price. Boy am I glad I did! The vacuum makes trimming so much less of a mess. I use it also to buzz cut my hair and there is virtually no mess now where there used to be stubble of hair everywhere before. I do have to empty the vacuum container a few times but less mess is far better. Great product. The description really doesn’t do it justice. It really works!
