What can I say, it’s a Braun razor I have usually been happy with Braun razors and this one is no different. Close shave, it could be cleaned in the sink, is every thing you might want inside a razor.

I just recieved this the other day and I love it. I had been replacing me Braun 8985 that I was OK with, I’m picky and I’ve tried several other brands however the Braun always worked best for me. I like this design better simply because it does shave closer and smoother that my previuos model.

I’ve used rotary head electric shavers for past 10 many years, mainly Norelco, and once Remington. They had been good in most component, but usually discovered difficult to get close shave in neck areas. I had been really getting tired of missing hairs on neck even after investing long time going back and forth within the region.

Bottom line for people who want the info very first. Near shave, easy to clean, and really quiet. Not cheap but what great electric razor is these days? I put this razor up against a couple Panasonics and the aged 3-370 design. Same quantity but different shaver with the old style Braun rocker head types. That shaver functions alright but requirements a number of passes to obtain the job carried out. It is not the best they’ve created but adequate for a decent and thorough shave.

Superb razor. Close shave. No irritation. Instruction book really clear. Have utilized Norelco before. Very satisfied. In my opinion it is the best razor out there. Wouldn’t hesitate to purchase another once again.

More than the past five years I brought numerous electrical shavers, none of them were that good. I even brought the Remingtion electrical shaver suggested by Customer Reports, I didn’t like it. I have to admit I had been in no way willing to invest much money for an electric shaver.

I have been using electrical razors off and on for that past 10 years. I’ve had 3 total prior to this model. A low-end Norelco and a high-end Braun and Panasonic. Even using the previous Braun and Panasonic shavers, I had been continuously going back to utilizing blades. I’ve pretty delicate epidermis, so I in no way truly wanted to return to using blades.

I was looking for Rotary shaver women for some time. I was disappointed with the foil shaver head. It gets the job done and I agree with a review of others – that has meant for the legs alone. Be careful around the upper thigh – I was sensitive to this razor in this area.

It works very well. As with other electric shavers do not cut as close as a razor real. Since it is not my leg hair grow in a uniform direction this shaver works much better for me than other guys that I owned. As the armpits and other areas, the instructions specifically state that it is not recommended for use other than the legs.

This is a great product. I love it and use it all the time. Often when I use to shave with a regular razor, my legs itched, but they don’t at all with this shaver!

I bought my first electric shaver about 55 years ago and my first Norelco a few years later. Since then I have tried everything, and this is by far the best. I joke that this is a razor magic, because you do not hear anything and not feel anything. That is a slight exaggeration. It feels a very slight hum, but it is so quiet that I really thought something was wrong the first time I used it, but I immediately noticed that every time he touched my face, his mustache vanished.
It does cause less irritation of the skin, but was immediately treated with a few drops of after shave balm. Very easy to clean, and a charge lasts about two weeks. Very light, very comfortable in hand. Can not find a single negative.

I do not leave many reviews here, but I had to write an account of “Thumbs Up” for this shaver. And ‘the closest shave I had with an electric shaver to date. It ‘my first Rotary. My previous razor was Panasonic and Braun foil shavers. Two of these were more expensive than this. I always touched with a razor blade twins … UNTIL NOW. Moreover, I shave my head. I never had shaving and does not need to give a couple of weeks to adjust the manual suggested was common. His beard was close and comfortable from day 1. I have been using Norelco razors since the 60’s so I have some experience with them. Every 5+ years a newer model is purchased. This new fast shave razor takes about three times longer to shave than my last model 6886XL. Have to keep going over areas on my neck and face multiple times. It has no gage for the charge left so it will just stop without warning. Hope your not rushing to work… It feels and sounds lightweight and cheap. Cheap… Expect it to stop working right after the warantee expires. If this is the way Norelco is going it will be my last shaver from Norelco.

I’ve been a Gilette Fusion manual-razor man for the past two years, nothing beats a nice lather and the raw feeling of shaving away with a manual razor. Well, I received this Philips Norelco 8240XL, and decided to try the hype that is the electric razor. I was very surprised- it is worth the hype! The shave was extremely close, and was very precise. Most importantly, there was absolutely no skin irritation. This is coming from the guy whose skin will turn into hundreds of little red bumps at the slightest irritation, and has to slap gallons of aftershave balm on himself. Amazing- a dry shave with no skin irritation? That’s better than sliced bread. I think I’ll miss using my Fusion.

If I shave in the morning, I’ll have the makings of a five-o’clock shadow in the afternoon. I’ve always used electric razors, and I’ve used wet/dry, single blade, and rotary blade. This Philips Norelco, might just be the best I’ve ever used. It gives a clean, close shave that lasts almost all day. The quiet motor at first seems like its hardly working, but it efficiently trims my beard. The battery holds a charge for a long time. Shaving below the jaw and around the neck can be tedious, but I’ve never had a razor behave otherwise. The trimmer, however, does not work well at all and is the only problem I had.

I needed to replace by Braun 7500 razor that I had been using for 5 or 6 years. After looking and all the reviews and shopping around, I decided to try a rotary razor as these were supposed to get the longer hairs and coarse hairs better than the foil types. Buying this razor was a great purchase. It is so much quieter than my old razor. It took a while to get used to the quiet but I no longer wake my wife by shaving. After about a week by skin became used to the new style of shaver. I’ve cut my shaving time down by half with the Norelco! With the Braun I had to go over areas multiple times to get all the difficult hairs. The Norelco seems to get everything on the first pass or too, even the coarse or longer hairs. Even when I don’t shave for two or three days, it still cut close and quick. I also like rinsing the shaver under the faucet instead of the cleaning station the braun had. I no longer spend $10 every two months buying the cleaning solution and my wife appreciates not having the “spaceship” taking up room on the counter. If you are looking for a good electric razor this is one to buy. Good price, good performance, quiet operations, and easy cleanup.
