Remington MS2-390 Review
This is my first micro screen razor. It does a better job on my neck than my previous rotary razor. I still use a blade a couple times a week, but will use this one for about 3 days and then get a really good close shave with a blade. I don’t care what anybody says, I’ve never had anything cut as close as a blade. The charge seems to last a long time, and it’s nice that you can use it with the cord if the battery dies. It is a little loud, as other reviewers have noted, but its not unbearable. Overall, this seems to be a good electric shaver that gives a decent shave. I bought it because it was recommended by Consumer Reports and offered a good price compared to other electrics. I recommend it.

I have been using Remington shavers for years. Some reviewers complained about the noise. I also thought they were noisy when I first transitioned from a rotary shaver to a Remington, but the closer shave was more than worth a little extra noise–which I don’t notice any more. This new razor gives every indication that it will continue in the Remington tradition of good close shaves and trouble-free operation for years.

I bought this razor over six months ago on the recommendation of Consumer Reports. During that time, I haven’t had a single issue with it. It provides a great close shave with no skin irritation. The charge is usually good for an entire week of shaving and I occasionally shave more than once per day. Don’t hesitate to buy this razor, you won’t have any regrets!

Braun Replacement Pulsonic 9000 Series Review
I have shaved with a Braun for 15+ years. I find this new shaver to be an improvement over previous Braun shavers. Positives: Big improvement is in design. The pulsonic is slimmer and easier to hold when shaving. After 3+ weeks – I can honestly say that it shaves better/closer. One can flush the shaver clean with tap water when traveling or away from the cleaning/charging unit. Negatives: It is noisier when shaving and when cleaning. Also the side trimmer is not user friendly as in past models. The past models let you use the side trimmer to cut neck hairs – when needed. This is not possible now. Overall better.

I clean the blades every 6-10 shaves in the solution (9000 series) but by the 4th month the shaves went from AMAZING to noticibly less… by 6 months I’m replacing them because I’m back to the old ‘go over & over the same area’ to get the perfect shave when the blades were new. Still as close a shave, just lots more repetition to get the same complete coverage. Anyone else experiencing the same ? It’s still an amazing product but we NEED TO KNOW if the blades need replacing every 6 mos to get the same quick & perfect shave we start with when new !!

I haven’t used mine yet as I’m on the original one that came with the razor. Normally the blades on an electric are used up in 6 months on my razors. The Braun 9595 is hands down the best razor I’ve ever used and the replacement blades are the same as the one that came with the unit, so I can expect at least a year out of the blades. Also use the Braun Fluid, I think it really helps keep everything working right and seems to keep the blades sharper.

Braun 8000 360 Review
The blade replacement didn’t really feel like that much of a difference from my old blade that I had on the Braun. I didn’t notice any less irritation by changing the blade but I guess it did do a quicker job in cutting the hair to the proximity I wanted. All in all not too shabby.

These replacement heads work just fine on a Braun 8585 (which has the “Activator” system, whatever that is) in case anyone is wondering. I got a terrific shave after installing them on my 8585 today. I replaced my original foil after 30 months of use, as the cutter finally wore through the foil leaving a hole. I do not shave every day, as I feel better with a day’s growth, sometimes even two or three if it’s a weekend. This probably contributed to the phenomenal 30 month life of the original screen. For some reason this foil was $5 cheaper than the “Activator” 8000 series foil, so I got it. Add to it Amazon’s free shipping and 15% discount for Subscribe & Save and it is an unbeatable deal.

The product does what it’s supposed to, and does it well; only thing is, it leaves a dirty, black smeared stain wherever you shave. Therefore, if you decide to put up with that and keep it for whatever reason, you’d have to just wash it off after wards or perhaps shave before you shower.

I should have replaced the cutter block and foil about a half year sooner. The razor has me back to being smoother than the dull cutter and foil arrangement offered though it wasn’t really all that bad. The new cutter and foil takes less time to get a finished shave. Is worth the time reclaimed but think the price is a bit of a heave.
